FAQ

How long have you been quilting?

I have been quilting for over 15 years.

Why did you start quilting?

I had been sewing clothes for a while when my good friend invited me to a quilting class.  I never did finish that first quilt, but I still have it and will finish it one day.  My first finished quilt was my blue & white Irish Chain quilt.

How'd you learn to free motion quilt?

Practice, practice, practice!  I watched and read free online tutorials.  I took classes at my local quilt shop and online.

I didn't only take free motion quilting classes.  There were classes on hand quilting, long arm quilting and various quilt project classes.

I took the best information (for me) from each of these classes to build my skills.

Do you lecture/teach?

Yes, visit the learn section to find more information on the lectures and workshops I offer.

What kind of sewing machine do you use?

I use all of these.

Do you still crochet/knit/sing/play/etc?

Yes, I am very active in my church's music ministry. I sing, play piano & organ. I crochet, a lot. I'm not very fond of knitting, but I still do.  I use my drawing & painting skills on my quilt.
